A sliver of moon lit the cloud covered sky and reflected on the emerald studded bracelets clinking on her arm as she paced herself up the steep sidewalk. The air was a wall of fog, visually echoing the beams cast from the street lights lining the narrow, sleepy road.  Covered only with a chiffon blouse and denim skirt, her exposed skin formed goosebumps with the dropping temperature, an occasional shiver rising through her core.  Time bled away and her legs began to ache as her pace persisted, until the top of the morning sun creeped into view and while massaging her tired, veiny eyes she wondered to herself, How did I get here.. and where am I going?
